WHY THIS EXISTS

My mother ran for her life and suffered a life that robbed her of sleep and gave her a shorter life span than expected.

I never had to run.

Instead, I found myself wide awake at 3 a.m., staring at the ceiling for the umpteenth time, contemplating why a person who appeared to have everything under control could not manage the one thing that the body is naturally supposed to do.

I was a sleep clinician. Twenty years of it. I knew the research, the protocols, the equipment. I helped other people sleep for a living.

And I couldn't sleep. How is that for irony?

What finally moved the needle wasn't a protocol. It wasn't a device, technique, or prescription. It was being witnessed. Someone staying present with what I was carrying—not to fix it, not to reframe it—just to see it. When what had gone unspoken finally had somewhere to land, my nervous system stopped running the overnight shift on its own.

The sleep came back. Deeply. Consistently. For the first time in years.

That wasn't a coincidence. It was a sequence. And once I understood it, I built a program around it.

The Program

It's called ARETE.

You speak. I listen. Sleep better.

 

One session, face-to-face or by Zoom. Sixty minutes, no right words required. You bring what you have.

Together, we look at what's standing between you and real sleep.

 

 

If you've been functional for years and exhausted the whole time, you're not broken. You're adapted. 

 

And there's a way through it.

What is it? Maybe it is a version of the Opathian State.

Possibly a lifestyle choice.

There may be an invisible barrier that is easily overlooked.

If you have been working with a professional

to discover it

and everything has either been completed

or put on hold,

and there is still room to discover more, then...
